We would love to be able to personally answer all of the email that we receive but due to the volume, it is not possible. Please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions list (below) before writing to us.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Can you send us printed information about North Carolina / the National Forests / Blue Ridge Parkway / Accomodations etc.?
Everything we have is on the internet. We have no printed materials.

For informational brochures from the North Carolina Dept. of Commerce, Division of Tourism, visit "http://visitnc.com/request_pubs.asp"

For the Blue Ridge Parkway, you can request info online Request Info On-line:
    * Request BRP Info On-line from Friends of the BRP - http://blueridgefriends.org/pi.html
    * Request the Blue Ridge Parkway Guidebook (free)- http://www.blueridgeparkwayusa.com/form_guidebook.htm

For other topics and activities, there are numerous guidebooks covering every activity available at every location in North Carolina. We have tried to put together listings of many of what we consider to be the best guidebooks in our NCNatural Selections section - http://ncnatural.com/selections/index.html

  2. Can we reserve a campsite or cabin?
We don't have anything to do with campgrounds, accomodations, tours, etc. We are not affiliated with the National Forest Service or the Blue Ridge Parkway. For mountain camping in the North Carolina National Forests (Nantahala and Pisgah national Forests), check this file- "http://www.cs.unca.edu/nfsnc/recreation/connections/cc_03_03.pdf
". Info on making reservations is included in the PDF file, as well as info about facilities at the campgrounds. For camping in Uwharrie National Forest, check "http://ncnatural.com/NCUSFS/Uwharrie/camping.html". For Croatan National Forest, get this file - "http://www.cs.unca.edu/nfsnc/recreation/crouwhcamp.pdf". For specific questions about campsites in the National Forests, including primitive back-country camping, get in touch with the local ranger district where you are planning to go. Those addresses are listed at the lower part of the page at "http://ncnatural.com/NCUSFS/". For camping at the National Park Service campgrounds on the Blue Ridge Parkway, campsites are allocated on a first come/ first served basis (that means no reservations are accepted). For Blue Ridge Parkway camping info, visit the official Blue Ridge Parkway website at "http://www.nps.gov/blri/pphtml/camping.html". We do not have info on motels/hotels/bed & breakfasts or private campgrounds.

  3. Can you give me directions or send me a map to ____ (fill in the blank)?
We've tried to provide directions and maps or descriptions to most of the places that we mention, but there are always a few exceptions. Honestly, we don't know every campsite on every creek in North Carolina, even though we're working on it. If you can't find a particular location on MapQuest.com, you can try Topozone.com. Topozone has topographic maps for most, if not all of North Carolina and their search feature will find creeks and mountains and things that mapquest won't have a clue about. If you are looking for a particular location in the National Forests and still can't find it, check with the local ranger district office. Those addresses are listed at the lower part of the page at "http://ncnatural.com/NCUSFS/".

If your question has not been answered and you have a realistic expectation that we may be able to answer it, you may get in touch with us by emailing to .
